Power Tynan modernises document collation with FuseDocs

Power Tynan is a progressive accounting firm with around 70 staff across Queensland, with offices in Toowoomba, Stanthorpe, Roma, and Brisbane. As the firm prepared for a broader move towards a cloud-based environment, it needed to modernise some of the legacy systems sitting behind its client work. One of the biggest priorities was document collation.

Power Tynan had been using an Excel-based tool, but over time it had become difficult to maintain and too limited for the way the firm wanted to work. The team needed a more scalable, flexible process that could support them through change without creating unnecessary disruption.

Replacing a legacy process with a better workflow

Power Tynan implemented FuseDocs to improve how documents were compiled, reviewed, and sent across the firm. Rather than simply replacing an old tool with a new one, the implementation focused on building a workflow that matched how Power Tynan’s team actually worked.

With support from FuseWorks, the team mapped out their ideal document processes and tailored FuseDocs around those requirements. This helped create a more consistent approach to document preparation, while also giving staff a clearer, easier process to follow.

A stronger foundation before moving to the cloud

Timing was important. Power Tynan was preparing for a staged transition to a cloud-based environment, and FuseDocs gave the firm a practical foundation before that broader change took place.

Because FuseWorks is system-agnostic, Power Tynan could improve its document workflow without needing to rush a full system overhaul. That flexibility meant the firm could solve an immediate operational problem while still supporting its longer-term technology direction.

Saving time on complex document jobs

The results were significant. Before FuseDocs, compiling and sending documentation could take up to an hour.

Today, even complex jobs take 15 minutes or less. That time saving has changed how the team views document preparation.

What was once seen as a painful admin task has become a normal part of the workflow.

“Document collation is no longer seen as a painful task. It’s just part of the workflow now.”
Amanda Kenafake CEO, Power Tynan

Improving consistency, collaboration, and confidence

The benefits went beyond speed. By replacing scattered processes with a unified workflow, Power Tynan made it easier for staff to follow consistent procedures. That helped reduce errors, simplify training, and improve confidence across the team.

The end-to-end workflow also improved collaboration. With clearer steps from setup through to review, more team members could understand and contribute to the full client document journey. For senior staff, this meant less time caught in manual preparation and follow-up, and more time available for higher-value work.

Advice for other accounting firms

Power Tynan’s advice to other firms is not just to digitise an old process, but to use implementation as an opportunity to improve it.

For firms still relying on manual document collation or legacy internal tools, Power Tynan’s experience shows the value of rethinking the workflow properly. With the right process in place, document preparation can become faster, more consistent, and easier for the whole team to manage.

The result

Power Tynan’s move to FuseDocs helped the firm reduce document preparation time, improve workflow consistency, support staff adoption, and create a more efficient client document experience.

By implementing FuseDocs ahead of larger system changes, Power Tynan was able to modernise a key operational workflow and set the firm up for a more scalable future.
