TJL improves consistency across annual client collations with FuseDocs
TJL Business Advisors & Accountants supports clients across accounting, financial planning, and insurance services in the Manning-Great Lakes region of NSW. With teams working across multiple office locations, the firm needed a more consistent way to prepare annual report packages for clients.
Before FuseDocs, annual collations were heavily manual. The client service team had to locate documents in MYOB AE, print financial statements, tax returns, and other reports, then reorder and scan everything back into the system as a single file. Cover letters were also prepared manually using pre-written templates.
For smaller family groups, the process could take more than 30 minutes. For larger groups, it could take several hours.
A manual process creating inconsistent outcomes
TJL wanted to improve consistency across teams and locations. The firm was already focused on continuous improvement, but the existing collation process made it harder to deliver the same client experience every time.
Because documents were being manually located, printed, ordered, and scanned, the workflow relied heavily on individual handling. That created extra admin time and made it harder to produce consistent, properly branded report packages across both offices.
FuseDocs gave the team a way to standardise the process without losing the flexibility needed for different
client groups.
Automating report packages with FuseDocs
With FuseDocs and the MYOB AE integration, TJL can now automatically identify the relevant entities within a family group and locate the required documents saved in MYOB AE.
FuseDocs then compiles and formats the report package in a single click. It also applies the Director’s signature stamp to compilation reports and generates a second file containing the pages clients need to sign, marked with signature tags.
That means the team can prepare annual report packages faster, with far less printing and manual handling.
Saving time and reducing printing
The time savings have been significant. TJL’s client service team can now complete collations in less than half the time, while also reducing the cost and effort involved in printing full report packs.
“FuseDocs has cut down the time we spend on collations by at least 50% at a bare minimum.”
The workflow has also improved consistency. Both offices now use FuseDocs to generate report packages, helping
clients receive properly branded documents regardless of which location or team manages the work.
Supporting future workflow improvements
After implementing FuseDocs for annual collations, TJL is already looking at other opportunities to automate document workflows.
The team is considering annual superannuation collations, as well as Statement and Record of Advice collations, giving the firm a practical path to extend the value of FuseDocs across more service areas.
That makes the TJL story a strong example of FuseDocs as more than a single-process fix. Once one high-volume
workflow is streamlined, the same approach can support broader operational improvement across the firm.
The result
TJL used FuseDocs to turn a manual, print-heavy annual collation process into a faster and more consistent workflow.
The firm now saves at least 50% of the time previously spent on collations, reduces unnecessary printing, and delivers properly branded report packages across both offices.
For accounting firms managing annual reports across multiple teams or locations, TJL’s experience shows how FuseDocs can improve speed, consistency, and client presentation without adding complexity.
